I have been lazy!

Hi, furever friends,

Okay, someone has been lazy. Yep, that is me. I was really busy this past winter and then around June, the geese could no longer fly, and were not a nuisance at the properties I was checking. So, I’ve been hanging out with my mom and dad. Did you realize the geese don’t fly in the summer? Do you know why? After they give birth, all the geese, even the males, lose a feather that is known as a pin feather and it keeps them from being able to get up in the air. They can lift-off about a foot from the ground or water, but that’s it. I still scoot them off the grass into the water if there is some on the property. If not, I follow behind them until they are off the property I am controlling. Geese can actually run fairly fast. I don’t hurt them. I don’t even bark at them. I just make sure they know where they are welcome and where they are not.
So anyway, I’ve been hanging with my peeps. Dad takes me in the truck every day. Sometimes I have had to stay at the building because it is too hot for me to sit in the truck while he works. Even with the windows down, we have had 90+ degree days and high humidity. Wearing this black fur coat gets a little toasty.
I really like it when I get to go on the boat with my dad to check out a lake. He is looking for pond weeds and algae and I am just along for the ride. It feels good to have the wind in my hair. The one thing I don’t like is having to wear a leash. When I walk with my dad, he just tells me to heel and I stay next to him. The boat dock has a sign that says all dogs must be leashed. So, dad puts the leash on me. That thing is so confining! Sometimes, if no one is around, he will let me go back to the truck without it. Sh, don’t tell anyone.
Well, this is definitely the lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer. The dog days, so to speak. Hope your summer has been doggone good. Mine sure has.
